On Monday, January 24, 2022, Leonardo Gil Fraga, a TikTok celebrity and hospital worker, was killed in a hit-and-run after leaving the hospital on his motorcycle. The involved driver still must be found, and his family is demanding justice. A Florida hospital worker with over 100,000 TikTok followers was killed in a hit-and-run vehicle accident while ending his shift at Hialeah Hospital. Around 9:30 p.m., the 34-year-old man was riding his motorcycle home when he was hit by an SUV turning left at the crossing of East 8th Avenue and 21st Street in Hialeah. The car drove away from the incident, leaving the TikTok celebrity on the road. Gil’s aunt informed reporters in Miami that he was resting on the side of the street until a passing motorist noticed him and assisted him. He was finally sent to Jackson Memorial Hospital. However, people verified that Gil died because of his injuries. The SUV car that hit Gil is still on the loose, causing the entire family to seek for everyone’s assistance in identifying the suspect’s identity. However, Hialeah Police Lt. Eduardo Rodriguez explained that the CCTV evidence proved that the SUV driver did not give the TikTok celebrity a chance to stop at the intersection. The SUV driver might face significant charges shortly since Gil had the right of way. The family was broken even more after seeing the video, because Gil had never owned a motorbike until three months ago. The driver who fled the scene of the incident is still being sought by police. Lieutenant Rodriguez has appealed to the community for assistance.

On Saturday January 22, 2022, at the crossing of Northwest Third Street and 11th Avenue two women in a red car, who were both in their 60s, were rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition. A 63-year-old woman was killed, and a friend was injured. The second lady is in serious condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital after suffering head injuries, a broken spine, a lacerated spleen, and hip fractures in the incident. Following a tragic hit-and-run collision in Miami’s Little Havana area, a 17-year-old was detained, and two additional suspects were identified by investigators, Miami police reported Thursday. Surveillance cameras at a nearby gas station captured video of the suspects, who police claimed were in a stolen white Land Rover that crashed with the 63-year-old woman’s vehicle. They suspect the Land Rover driver ran a stop sign before the fatal T-bone crash. According to the report, the victim’s vehicle then sideswiped two parked vehicles on the east side of the road prior to rear-ending another parked vehicle, resulting in a chain-reaction accident involving two additional parked cars. The 17-year-old teen appeared in juvenile court before a judge, and after the charges were read, his mother stated that she would hire her own attorney instead of accepting a court-appointed Public Defender. The state stated it was evaluating the case and that if they decided to make a “direct filing,” they could prosecute him as an adult. He has another hearing scheduled on February 16th.
