On Saturday, January 15, 2022, following a car accident in which the child required Narcan to regain consciousness, a 39-year-old Pensacola man was arrested on Saturday. The 39-year-old man, already identified, was charged with child negligence, driving while intoxicated, marijuana possession, and drug equipment possession. At 11 a.m. on Saturday, the Florida Highway Patrol was dispatched to the site of an accident on Highway 29 and Kingsfield Road. The 39-year-old man was discovered unconscious with pained breathing and his face going blue by a patrol. When the trooper was unable to rouse him, he gave Narcan, and he 36-year-old man rapidly recovered consciousness. A 39-year-old man was driving southbound on Highway 29 with a 6-year-old child in his SUV, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The SUV collided with the trailer hitch at the back of a pickup truck that was stopped in traffic waiting for a green light to move south. The crash did not result in any injuries to others. On a $5,500 bail, the 39-year-old male remains in the Escambia County Jail.
