Deadly Hit-and-Run – Florida Highway Patrol is Looking for the Car Involved

On Saturday January 22, 2022, according to the Florida Highway Patrol, two persons died in two separate vehicle and bicycle accidents in Clay County last Saturday night. In Clay County on Saturday night, a second bicyclist was killed. The collisions were not linked, according to troopers. The initial collision occurred just before 7:30 p.m. on North Mimosa Avenue around County Road 218 in Middleburg, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. According to police, a sedan driver struck a 45-year-old male biker and fled the area. Before arriving at the hospital, the bicyclist died. According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, he also wasn’t wearing a helmet. There may be some barriers in the area for drivers. Anticipate delays and plan to slow down.
