On Monday, February 14, 2022, a car crash and shooting occurred at 3:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-95 near the exit for Northwest 103rd Street, leaving one lady seriously injured. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue attended and transported a female to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital. The woman was first thought to have died as a result of her injuries, but authorities revealed Monday afternoon that she was still alive. According to Miami-Dade police, the victim’s vehicle was perforated with gunshot holes in conjunction to the accident. It’s unclear if her injuries were caused by the gunshot or the collision, and there’s no word on why she was shot. During the investigation, a section of the freeway was stopped for hours, forcing northbound cars to detour at Northwest 79th Street. The woman’s automobile was spotted on the side of the road near the Northwest 103rd Street exit, with a yellow sheet covering the driver’s side window. The lanes reopened just before 1 p.m. According to authorities, the second automobile involved in the incident fled the scene. In addition to the accident, the woman’s vehicle was shot. According to authorities, the motivation is now being investigated. The identity of the woman has not been revealed. Anyone with information that might assist the investigation is asked to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
